Who We Are

Faces of Autism Awareness was created in May 2017.  Our mission is to bring programs to families in Livingston, Wyoming and Genesee Counties that are touched by autism.  Our goal is to be able to provide these programs at little or no cost to our families.

Jodi Maurer
President/Founder - Jodi spent 7 years as a teacher before leaving the education setting and entering the business world. She is the mother of 2 boys, TJ and Donovan. TJ is on the autism spectrum and was the inspiration to creating this group.
Norm Maurer
Board Member - With us since our founding, Norm is one of our veteran team members. He is husband to Jodi and father to TJ and Donovan. A dedicated family man that brings his creative ideas to everything we do.
Jennifer Brush
Board Member - Jennifer has been an elementary school teacher for 26 years and is in her 23rd year at Churchville Elementary School. She is currently teaching third grade there. Jennifer became involved in fundraising after losing her daughter, Taylor, who spent her entire 6 ½ month life in the NICU at Golisano Children’s Hospital battling life threatening birth defects. She has two surviving children, a daughter named Camryn and a son named Lucas.
Paul Estabrooks
Board Member - Paul's background and experience in education are valuable assets to the group. He is currently the Principal and CSE Director at Caledonia-Mumford Middle School.
Patti Fields
Board Member - Patti is a special education teacher and is currently teaching kindergarten 8:1:1 Autism class. Past co-chair of Rochester autism walk. Family includes husband , son, daughter, son in law and two wonderful grandchildren.
Kristin Wegman
Board Member - Kristin has taught in the Rochester City School District for 31 years. For the last 14 years she has taught the 6:1:4 kindergarten room for children with autism. She is currently on the Rochester City School District autism team. She volunteers with organizations that support families with children with autism. She is on the community Partnership Committee at the University Of Rochester medical Center. She has 2 grown children: a son that lives in Chicago and a daughter currently teaching abroad in Mynanmar.
